Drug violation at Nisqually Plaza leads to arrest

Yelm Police Officers arrested a man on Aug. 24 around 12:30 a.m. after an officer spotted the previously trespassed person walking through the Nisqually Plaza. While detaining the man, an officer removed a large knife/saw from his person, according to the police report. Police officers found a needle and methamphetamine while searching the man as well. Eventually, the trespassed man was transported to the Nisqually Jail on charges of criminal trespass in the second degree, one count of a dangerous knife over 3 and 1/2 inches, and one count of a controlled substance.

Shoplifting at Safeway



Yelm Police officers responded to a report of shoplifting Aug. 24 around 4:40 p.m. in the afternoon after a woman allegedly stole $107 in merchandise from the store before fleeing in a white Range Rover. According to reports, the vehicle fled heading eastbound on state Route 507 before eventually pulling over. All the occupants in the vehicle denied stealing anything, and one denied identifying herself before eventually complying.

Eventually the woman was trespassed from Safeway and received a third-degree criminal citation.
