People can start their engines for gleaming vehicles and family fun at the upcoming Show-Up And Show-Off Kruz-In fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10 at Wilkowski Park in Rainier. The event will be a spectacle for automobile enthusiasts and families alike, with various vehicles on display and a host of entertainment options for all ages.

The Kruz-In, an innovative twist on the traditional car show, aims to showcase vehicles of all types, ranging from trucks and cars to razors, big rigs, motorcycles and more.

The goal is to fund raise for 15-year-old Kahne Loftus, who uses the money to create care packages for U.S. troops deployed overseas.

“The atmosphere will be a fun, relaxing family day,” said Darcy Loftus, Kahne’s mother.

Children can participate in a small parade around the park with their bikes, power wheels and big wheels, adding an extra layer of enjoyment.

There will be a variety of attractions. A face painter, DJ, snow cone stand, ice cream truck and several vendors will be present to keep everyone entertained and well fed. There will also be a raffle and auction featuring items donated by several companies, including Rhino USA, Kleinman’s Automotive, Hi-Country Snack Foods Trading Co, Winston Oregon Wildlife Safari, Mechanics Gloves, Lisa Vanderpump, Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky and more.

Awards and goodie bags will be distributed, along with dash plaques, adding an element of friendly competition to the event.

“Kahne and his friends love trucks, and it was his idea to get everyone together for a fun day and to help out a good cause as well,” Darcy Loftus said. “This fundraiser is very important. The more money we raise, the more service members we can send packages to during the holidays.”

There are also future fundraisers in the works later this year, including one on Veterans Day in November.
