Yelm schools and teachers:
Both sides waited for the week before school started to begin negotiations on what would be acceptable to both parties to resume work.
This is a total disservice to the students, parents, food service, bus drivers and janitors. Your district did not pass its maintenance levy because they could not show us where the money goes (miscellaneous). Now the teachers are not going to teach because a 6% raise is not good enough? Sounds like Yelm schools are way more messed up than I could have imagined. Come February, when your new levy comes up for a vote, if it is more than 1% I will post on every social media platform what a joke this district is and how money-hungry they are on both sides. Please someone change my mind.
