Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 5 in Lacey on Thursday, Oct. 29.
The crash was reported at 4:25 p.m. The roadway was blocked for an hour and 14 minutes, according to a Washington State Patrol incident report.
A red 2000 Dodge Ram driven by Kathryn E. Ottman, 73, of Shelton, reportedly rear-ended a white 2019 Ford Transit driven by Sean C. Henderson, 28, of Centralia, in the far right hand lane of southbound I-5 at milepost 108 in Lacey.
The Ford then struck the driver’s side of a silver 2000 Saturn SL1 driven by Alexander M. Liufau, 32, of Roy, that was travelling in the right middle lane .
All vehicles came to rest in the far right lane.
Ottman and Henderson were transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia for medical treatment.
Liufau was uninjured.
Ottman was issued a citation for failure to yield, which the state patrol determined was the cause of the crash.
No drugs or alcohol were involved, according to the state patrol.
