Thurston County to Launch New Website on March 1

Thurston County will launch its new, redesigned website on March 1.

The redesign to the site is the county’s first major website redesign in more than a decade, according to a news release from the county.

The county worked with a consulting company and used customer feedback collected in the first half of 2022 to complete the redesign of www.thurstoncountywa.gov.

As a result of the redesign, Thurston County’s updated website will improve access to all county services, establish a consistent look across all county office and department pages, increase the county’s brand recognition and raise community engagement.

“Upgrading to a new web content management system gives Thurston County access to a diverse set of analytic and content management tools to streamline the process of keeping the site up to date and allow the county to shape our content and navigation to fit the needs of our diverse community,” said Public Information Supervisor Meghan Porter.

According to the county, there will “be a content freeze” across the website from Feb. 21 through Feb. 28 to finalize the transition.

“This means there will be no content updates to the website during that time unless statutorily required,” stated the release.
