Thurston County commissioner, mayors delivering ‘State of the Community’ address next week

With the new year off and running, a Thurston County commissioner will join five Thurston County city mayors on Wednesday, Jan. 10, to deliver a “State of the Community” address in an event organized by the Thurston County Chamber and sponsored by Puget Sound Energy.

According to a chamber news release, the address will begin at noon at Saint Martin’s University’s Norman Worthington Conference Center, located at 5300 Pacific Ave. SE in Lacey.

Tickets to the address are $30 for chamber members who pre-register online and $35 for non-members who pre-register. The cost will be $35 for members and $40 for non-members at the door. The address will be delivered by Thurston County Commissioner Tye Menser, Olympia Mayor Dontae Payne, Lacey Mayor Andy Ryder, Tumwater Mayor Debbie Sullivan, Yelm Mayor Joe DePinto and Tenino Mayor David Watterson.



“This highly anticipated annual gathering promises an energizing experience, featuring insightful discussions on critical topics that matter most to us all,” the release stated.

Among the topics to be discussed are the affordable housing crisis, fostering high-wage job opportunities and developing “robust connections” for youth mental health service access.
