The Pierce County Council is seeking applications from City of Roy residents to be appointed to the Roy City Council. To qualify, applicants must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have lived within the Roy City Limits for at least one year
- Be a registered voter
- Be a current resident of Roy
- Be a citizen of the United States and the State of Washington
Applications are due by 5 p.m., Friday, May 31. To apply, complete the application and attach a cover letter to https://tinyurl.com/y5vefrfk. People can also contact Susan Long, chief legal counsel to the Office of the Pierce County Council, at susan.long@piercecountywa.gov for more information.
According to a release, the chosen applicant will have the opportunity to:
- Influence local policies and decisions that directly impact residents
- Advocate for initiatives that promote community growth, sustainability and prosperity
- Collaborate with fellow council members and community leaders to address pressing issues
- Be a voice for all residents, ensuring their concerns are heard and acted upon
