I live on Harts Lake Road South. Lately we have been plagued with people dumping trash here. Not just litter, but huge piles of trash, or even a trailer full of garbage or an abandoned car stuffed full of trash.

I’d like to remind people to use legitimate junk removal services. When you call a number on a roadside sign and someone shows up with a pickup, they can just take your junk, and your money and then dump the junk somewhere. And if your name and address is somewhere in that trash, you may be the one blamed for illegal dumping. For junk cars, don’t trust someone who doesn’t ask you for the title or a “lost title” form. They may haul that junk car off your property and abandon it by the road. Use a licensed and bonded hauling service.

Recently, a truck pulling a trailer full of garbage pulled up in front of my place. My granddaughter went boiling out shouting “no dumping” at them. They pretended to be shocked and said they had pulled over for a low tire. They even got out a jack. A few minutes later, they zoomed off, leaving the jack in the road. And a passing driver stopped to say, “Watch those guys. Their front and back license plates don’t match.”

Please pay to get rid of your garbage and junk cars. Help stop roadside dumping.
