Michael Brown lived his life for adventure. After traveling as a young boy with his dad cross-country to pick up a fire truck for the Yelm Fire Department, he fell in love with the road. After graduating from Yelm High School, he spent most of his working years as both a long-haul and local truck driver. In his free time, he ventured out on roads less traveled on the seat of his Harley-Davidson, often with his loving wife, Michelle, in tow.
Michael was diagnosed with a lung disease in 2006. In 2015, he battled for his life in the intensive care unit. Surrounded by his dedicated wife, family, friends, and prayer warriors, he made a miraculous recovery. Following this incident, his phenomenal pulmonology team, Dr. Colleen Overdorf and Dr. Bobby Huck, recommended relocating to a drier climate. Together with his wife and family, Mike moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, in 2019. In the last five years, he was able to continue his travels, visiting places with his wife and family, including South Padre Island; Panama City, Florida; Destin, Florida; and Galveston, Texas. On March 7, 2025, Mike took his final ride to be with Jesus.
He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle, and her family, who cared for him in Texas: his mother-in-law, Ila; sisters-in-law, Crystal and Kim; brother-in-law, Jason; nephew, Andrew; and nieces, Kailee and Emma. He will be missed by his daughters, Jennifer McElroy and Jessica Hills; stepdaughter, Katie Ste. Marie; and siblings, Sharon Brown-Kabanuck, Garry Brown, Joann Brown, Susie Walsh, and Patty Trusty. Mike is also survived by seven grandchildren: Dakota, Isabelle, Jocelyn, Lilly, Allie, Ellie, and Journey; and a great-granddaughter, Wrenly. In addition, he will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He will be greatly missed until we meet again.
