Yelm volleyball hosts South Kitsap

The Yelm Tornados volleyball team will host 4A South Puget Sound League opponent South Kitsap at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, inside Yelm High School’s gymnasium. 

Saturday, Oct. 19

Dancing Goats and Singing Chickens winter preparedness

Yelm farm Dancing Goats and Singing Chickens will host Abigail Haddock from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 14062 Yelm Highway SE, Yelm, as she discusses a course on winter preparedness and cooking. According to farm owner Muhammad Ayub, Haddock loves to garden, cook, can, dehydrate, sew and prepare for emergencies. Attendants will have the opportunity to learn from her and gain strategies at the free event. 

Monday, Oct. 21

Rainier volleyball hosts Montesano

The Rainier Mountaineers volleyball team will host non-conference Montesano at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, inside the Rainier High School gymnasium. The contest can be viewed live on www.NFHSNetwork.com

Tuesday, Oct. 22

Bloodworks Northwest blood drive

Bloodworks Northwest will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, and Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Yelm Community Center. Appointments are required for the “best possible donation experience,” and same-day appointments are available at most locations. Photo identification is also required.

Yelm soccer hosts Puyallup

The Yelm Tornados girls soccer team will host the Puyallup Vikings, a 4A South Puget Sound League opponent, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Yelm High School. The matchup can be viewed online at www.NFHSNetwork.com

Wednesday, Oct. 23

The Yelm Tornados girls volleyball team will host 4A South Puget Sound League opponent Bonney Lake at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, inside Yelm High School’s gymnasium. 

Friday, Oct. 25

Yelm football hosts Olympia

Yelm football will host 4A South Puget Sound League south division opponent Olympia at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, at Yelm High School. The contest between the Tornados and the Bears will celebrate Yelm’s departing seniors prior to the opening kickoff. Tickets can be purchased online at www.GoFan.co.

Rainier football hosts Mossyrock

Rainier football will host C2BL opponent Mossyrock at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, at Rainier High School. Tickets to the contest can be purchased at the gate prior to the matchup between the two league opponents.

Rainier volleyball hosts Morton-White Pass

The Rainier Mountaineers volleyball team will host C2BL opponent Morton-White Pass at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, inside the Rainier High School gymnasium. The contest can be viewed live on www.NFHSNetwork.com

Tuesday, Oct. 29

Scare Trail at Cochrane Park

The City of Yelm will host its annual “Scare Trail” at Cochrane Park, 750 Mill Road, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29. It’s recommended that participants are ages 16 and over. The city will also offer a less frightening “Spooky Trail” at Cochrane Park from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the same day for those unable to make the late night fright.

Yelm Emanuel Lutheran Church is hosting its Fall into the Holidays Annual Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the church, 206 Third Ave., Yelm.
