Yelm High School presents ‘Seussical’

Yelm High School’s drama club will present “Seussical” on Friday, March 1, inside YHS’s performing arts room. Tickets for the event can be purchased online at GoFan.Co, and doors for the event will open at 6:30 p.m., with the performance beginning at 7 p.m.

Worthy Coffee Co.  Women’s Fellowship

Each Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Worthy Coffee Co., 9111 346th St. S., Roy, hosts its women’s fellowship event. At each meeting, women of all ages are invited to speak to inspire, uplift and share stories.

Yelm baseball home opener

The Yelm Tornados baseball team will open its season at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 8, at home against the Lakes Lancers in a 3A non-conference matchup. This matchup marks the first contest for newly hired head coach Dakota Hill. 

Saturday, March 9

LEGO Club at Timberland Library



The Yelm Timberland Library is set to host a LEGO Club meeting from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 9. The club meetings take place on the second Saturday of each month, including on April 13, May 11 and June 8. Each meeting will present a monthly theme to build around, but participants are welcomed to use their creativity to create their own LEGO masterpiece, if desired. Younger children should be accompanied to the event. The library is located at 201 Prairie Park St. SE in Yelm. 

29th annual Yelm Dollars for Scholars auction and dinner

The 29th annual Yelm Dollars for Scholars auction and dinner is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, at the Lake Lawrence Community Club, 15735 Topaz Drive SE. The community-based event helps provide scholarships for graduating Yelm High School seniors. Yelm Dollars for Scholars awarded $137,000 in scholarships last year. Yelm softball home opener

Yelm High School’s softball team opens up its season at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, at YHS against the 4A Olympia Bears, a future Tornados conference opponent in the 2024-25 school year. 

Yelm boys soccer home opener

Yelm High School’s boys soccer team will open its season at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, at YHS against the 4A Graham-Kapowsin Eagles, a future Tornados conference opponent in the 2024-25 school year. 

Saturday, March 16

Bunny Breakfast

The City of Yelm’s Parks and Recreation department will host “Bunny Breakfast” from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, March 16, at Yelm Community Center, 301 Second St. SE. The event intends to celebrate the coming of spring and will include breakfast and plenty of “egg-citing” activities like storytime and cookie decorating. Pre-registration and adult supervision are both required. Those interested can register at lf.yelmwa.gov/forms/BunnyBreakfast.

‘Midnight’ Eggstravaganza Adult Easter egg hunt

The City of Yelm’s Parks and Recreation department will host its “Midnight” Eggstravaganza Adult Easter egg hunt” at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, at Cochrane Memorial Park, 750 Mill Road SE. Participants must be 21 years or older and bring a flashlight to the event. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at lf.yelmwa.gov/Forms/MidnightEggstravaganza.

Charcuterie board workshop

The City of Yelm’s Parks and Recreation Department will host a “charcuterie board workshop” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, at the Yelm Community Center, 301 Second St. SE. The event costs $125, and participants can register online at lf.yelmwa.gov/Forms/CharcuterieBoardWS. Attendants will learn the art of balancing flavors, textures and aesthetics to assemble a gourmet charcuterie masterpiece, according to the event’s description. After the event, people can bring home their newly created charcuterie board, which will be suitable for four to six people.

Norway Day

Norway Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, at the Thurston County Fairgrounds, 3054 Carpenter Road SE, Lacey. The event includes music, dancing, arts, food and activities based on the experience of Viking life through Viking NorseWest.
