Editor,
In September, state Sen. John Braun, R-Centralia, wrote on voting in more Republicans and voting yes on all four initiatives. I understand most of those initiatives were completely funded by a wealthy Republican to save himself paying more in taxes, so take them with a pinch of salt. It prompted me to do some research and rant!
In this America it seems “up is down” and “black is white.” How can we keep up? Wondering why there no Democratic yard signs around? They keep getting taken down. Why don't we play fair here? Why are yard signs for the opposing team so threatening? Why are people being fed nothing but fear and anger? Why are people so scared of the future when the economy, employment and stock market are on the rise?
Why are the worst states to live in red states? They are poorer, sicker and less educated. They live 2.2 years less and earn $10,690 less annually. Red states have higher levels of spousal abuse, obesity, teen pregnancy, bankruptcy, poverty, smoking, infant and maternal mortality, forcible rape, high school dropouts, homicide, suicide, dropouts from high school, divorce, opiate addiction and deaths, unskilled workers, parasitic infections, contaminated air and water, income and wealth inequality, people on welfare, child poverty, homelessness, spousal murder, unemployment, deaths from auto accidents, people living on disability, gun deaths. They get more federal subsidies, which is red state welfare!
While nowhere is perfect and there's a lot more to be done to help the economy, we need Republicans to stop voting down legislation that helps regular people and stops immigration law going into effect. I'd suggest voting for Democrats!
