The Washington State University Thurston County Extension and Thurston County Public Works are recruiting for the 2025-26 Master Recycler Composter (MRC) Volunteer Training program.
The interactive training focuses on a wide range of topics taught by regional experts, Thurston County staff and WSU Extension staff who specialize in composting, recycling and waste reduction.
MRC volunteers are training on how to reduce waste and increase public awareness of opportunities to prevent waste, recycle and compost in Thurston County. Volunteers serve with local organizations, community members, neighborhoods, schools, workplaces or at special events encouraging waste prevention, recycling and composting.
On-going education opportunities are provided to all MRC volunteers to stay up to date on the ever-changing landscape of recycling regulations, waste reduction techniques and composting science.
