The Thurston County Auditor’s Office will test the accuracy of its ballot-counting equipment next week in preparation for the upcoming General Election.
The Thurston County Auditor’s Office announced Wednesday that it would conduct a “Logic and Accuracy test,” next week on Tuesday, Sept. 15. The test will be observed and certified by the Thurston County Auditor and a representative for the Washington Secretary of State, along with any political party observers who choose to participate. The office is also looking for community members to volunteer as observers for the test at its ballot processing center along 29th Avenue in Tumwater. According to a news release from the Auditor’s Office, anyone is eligible to be an observer.
“The logic and accuracy test is a great way to learn more about how we ensure our elections are free, fair, safe, and secure,” reads the news release. “Observers will be able to ask questions and learn more about how we test the accuracy of our systems.”
