A 50-year-old Lacey man is dead and two others are injured after a two-car collision on U.S. Highway 101 in Pacific County Sunday at about 10:46 a.m.

Jeremy Wetherald was pronounced deceased at the scene, while Rex Mullikin, 26, Rock Springs, Wyoming, and Judith Holden, 73, Hoquiam, were injured and hospitalized, according to a Washington State Patrol news release.

Mullikin’s 2018 Jeep Cherokee was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 101 just north of Butte Creek when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck the 2007 Dodge Caravan occupied by Wetherald and Holden. The Jeep came to rest blocking the northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 101, while the Dodge rolled and came to rest down an embankment.

While the cause is pending investigation, drugs or alcohol are believed to be involved and Mullikin may face charges, pending the investigation, according to the release. All parties were wearing seat belts.
