The Thurston County Auditor’s Office unveiled a new “I Voted” sticker design Tuesday during a Board of County Commissioners meeting proclaiming Sept. 16 as National Voter Registration Day.

The new design, created by local artist Alexis Trono, will debut in the 2025 general election and be included in every ballot packet through the 2027 primary election, including the 2026 federal midterms.

“Alexis’ design captures the beauty of Thurston County and the pride we take in voting,” Mary Hall, Thurston County auditor, said in a news release. “‘I Voted’ stickers are more than just a piece of paper; they are a symbol of civic engagement and democracy in action. I hope voters wear them proudly.”

Tuesday’s unveiling coincided with the proclamation of National Voter Registration Day, now in its 12th year in Thurston County. The proclamation from the commissioners highlights the importance of ensuring every eligible voter is ready to participate.

Trono incorporated local elements such as the Washington state Capitol building and rhododendrons into the design, paired with a modern take on the patriotic red, white and blue color palette.
The auditor’s office solicited “I Voted” sticker designs from Thurston County residents earlier this year. The winning design was selected for its strong sense of place, artistic quality and ability to inspire civic pride.
