Three people were hospitalized for medical treatment after a two-vehicle crash state Route 507 near Rainier on Sunday, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Elise I. De Wilde, 25, of Tigard Oregon, was traveling north on state Route 507 near mile marker 20 at about 4:07 p.m. when the crash occurred. De Wilde lost control of her 2024 Kia Niro, which slid into the southbound lanes and struck a 2024 Ford Explorer driven by Kris M. Hansen, 35, of Centralia.

The Kia came to rest blocking the northbound and southbound lanes. The Explorer left the roadway and came to rest on an embankment. The road was blocked for two hours and 50 minutes, according to the state patrol.

De Wilde, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital for treatment, as was Kris Hansen and his 34-year-old passenger, Aubrei N. Hansen, of Centralia. The Hansens were also wearing seat belts.

Drugs or alcohol are not believed to have been factors in the crash. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
