A 29-year-old Tenino man was injured in a two-vehicle hit-and-run crash on Interstate 5 in Pierce County on Friday, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Chad A. Buckly was traveling northbound on I-5 near Lakewood at about 3 p.m. Friday when the crash occurred, according to the state patrol.

Buckly’s 2013 Audi Q5 struck a barrier on the left side of the roadway, sending the vehicle back across the freeway where it was struck by a semi-truck, according to the state patrol.

The truck left the scene without stopping.

Buckly’s vehicle came to rest on the left shoulder, partially blocking the HOV lane.

Buckly was transported to Tacoma General Hospital to be treated for his injuries. His vehicle was totaled in the crash.

The roadway was blocked for an hour and a half.
