Assault Reported at Yelm Residence

Yelm police officers responded to a call at 9:25 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24 after a man reported he had been assaulted at his house.

Upon arrival, police officers learned an argument broke out between two occupants of the house when the reporting party was told “he’s no longer welcome” at his residence, according to police reports.

The reporting party was choked by the other occupant, but was uninjured and there were no visible marks.

Officers found no probable cause for arrest.

Burglary Takes Place at Yelm Business

Police officers responded to a call at around 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 26 after the manager of Yelm Boat and RV called to report an attempted break in.

Upon arrival, officers learned the manager found damage to the building after someone reportedly tried to break in, but they were unsuccessful in doing so.

Officers reviewed the surveillance footage but were unsuccessful in identifying the suspect.



Officers have no leads at this time.

Fifth Wheel Stolen From Storage Unit

Yelm police officers responded to a call after midnight on Thursday, May 26 after a person reported their fifth wheel trailer had been stolen. 

Upon arrival, officers learned the trailer and the contents inside of it were stolen from a storage center located on Berry Valley Road in Yelm.

Residential Burglary Occurs at Yelm Residence

Yelm police officers responded to a call at around 6:20 p.m. on Friday, May 27 after a woman called to report a man she had a no-contact order against entered her home and locked himself in a room.

Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the man to no avail.

After attempting to talk the man out of the room, officers had to force entry into the room to apprehend the man.

He was placed in handcuffs and charged with residential burglary, domestic violence, and for violation of the no-contact order.
