Criminal citation issued for possession and driving while suspended

Yelm police officers spotted a maroon Mazda 6 with an expired registration driving near Grove Road in Yelm, and ultimately pulled the driver over.

According to police reports, police officers learned that the driver didn’t have a license and he had non-extraditable warrants in his name. Officers later discovered the driver’s license was suspended.

During the stop, officers also found a “large bag” with powdery substance, which the man admitted was fentanyl.

He was issued a criminal citation for driving with a license suspended in the third degree, along with knowingly possessing a controlled substance.



He was released and given a court date following the citation.

Criminal citation issued for shoplifting at Rite Aid

Yelm police officers responded to reports of shoplifting around 8 p.m. on Friday, June 21, at Yelm’s Rite Aid after the store manager reported that a “combative” female was concealing items in the store, according to reports.

Upon arriving, Yelm police officers identified the woman — who eventually admitted that she concealed several items, including two bottles of nail polish in her purse.

She was issued a criminal citation for third degree theft and ultimately trespassed from the store.
