Seventh annual Prestige Senior Living Rosemont spaghetti feed deemed most successful yet

Prestige Senior Living Rosemont aims to serve as a community hub for both its residents and members of the community, and on Friday, Sept. 25, the community came together to fundraise for the Alzheimer’s Association through a spaghetti feed.

According to Kylie Woods, the community relations director at Prestige Senior Living Rosemont, the 2025 spaghetti feed was the organization’s most successful yet, as it raised nearly $2,500 and hosted a welcoming environment for all attendees to enjoy. She noted there were roughly 70 attendees at the event.

“The spaghetti feed went really well,” Woods said. “We had 24 local businesses throughout Yelm, McKenna and Eatonville who donated items to the cause. That was huge, because we raised $2,483 — which is the most we’ve ever raised in the seven years we’ve done this fundraiser.”

Woods also highlighted the origins of Prestige Senior Living Rosemont’s spaghetti feed, noting the annual event began as a way to honor two residents of the facility who passed away from Alzheimer’s.

“When we first started out, we dedicated the dinner to a couple who lived at Rosemont for years. Both of them ended up passing away from Alzheimer’s, within days of each other. So I had written a speech and wrote that to dedicate the dinner, which was really nice as well,” Woods said. “Every year we dedicate the dinner to our residents who passed away that year from Alzheimer’s. Thankfully, this year from January to September, we’ve only had two residents pass away from Alzheimer’s — so that’s who we dedicated the dinner to.

“This event means a lot,” she continued. “This event reminds me why I’m doing what I’m doing after nine years. Their families showed up to the spaghetti feed — they come to every event we have at Rosemont, so it was nice to see them.”

Woods noted that Yelm mayoral candidate JW Foster attended the spaghetti feed and that nearly every business that donated a raffle item or gift was in attendance. Additionally, new Prestige Senior Living Rosemont resident Claudia Simpson-Jones lightened the mood with her piano skills.

“She donated us her grand piano, and it sits in our lobby,” Woods said. “She actually played the piano all through the night, and it was very enjoyable for everyone to hear her music all night long.”

Up next for Prestige Senior Living Rosemont will be the organization’s Boo-Tastic Bingo from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17. She hopes to see community members turn out in force for the event next month.

“We’re going to be doing spooky-themed appetizers, drinks and desserts. There will be a costume party and a category for best costume,” Woods said. “The event will be $10 per person, and that includes the drinks, desserts, food, as well as 10 games of bingo.”

Additionally, Woods highlighted her thankfulness, and the organization’s graciousness, for the community and its constant generosity towards Prestige Senior Living Rosemont.

“We are grateful beyond words to not only come together as a community to raise that amount of money, but to see them show up every year for us,” Woods said. “I don’t want that to be taken lightly. I want people to understand how much that means to us.”
