Senior Action Network (SAN) and its member businesses are calling all seniors.

SAN will host its annual “Lakefair 50+ in the Park” from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 18, at Heritage Park in Olympia, and welcomes seniors, ages 50 and older, to attend the event for free.

For over 25 years, businesses from Thurston, Lewis and Mason counties have attended the popular event and shared information about their craft with those in attendance. This year, businesses in attendance will provide “invaluable” information and resources to those in attendance and will present fun games and prizes for those who choose to attend.

Additionally, the event’s organizers worked to bring back the Memphis Belles, a trio of singers from Seattle who have performed for audiences throughout Western Washington. According to event organizers, the group will “charm you with their sweet harmonies and lovable personalities.”

The Belles, featuring Krystle, Rebecca and Hannah, will dance to iconic music including the Andrews Sisters’ “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree” and “Chattanooga Choo Choo.” All three vocalists have “extensive” performing credits, including appearances at the 5th Avenue Theater in Seattle and the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre.
Entertainment will begin at 9:15 a.m., with Krystal Apple leading a “fun and energetic” zumba class in front of the stage on the grass. At 9:30 a.m., local musicians Mother Ficker’s Son and Friends will perform, followed by the Hook Me Up quartet at 10:30 a.m. Finally, the Memphis Belles will take the stage and perform from 12:30 p.m. to around 2 p.m.

Attendees who visit every vendor tent and each business will have the opportunity to win gift cards by having businesses “place their mark” on participants’ program “passports.” This will act as their raffle entry. Drawings will be held throughout the day in between musical acts and performances.

Additionally, Lakefair Princesses will also make appearances throughout the day.
