Rainier’s Zach Hamilton and Komaire Robles were both victorious on Thursday, winning races that involved four area schools at Mossyrock Park.
Hamilton clocked in at 18:09 to win the boys race, while MWP’s Vanson Armstrong (18:40), Noah Gilstrap (19:08) and Aiden Kampa (19:45) took spots two through four.
Three Rainier runners — Jake Hanson (20:02), Shane Parker (20:10), and Ty Beckman (20:12) — came in spots five through seven, and fellow Mountaineers Caleb Stover (20:49) and Daniel Vance (20:56) finished ninth and tenth.
The last top-10 spot went to Adna’s Raymond Carrol, who finished eighth at 20:39.
On the girls side, Robles was the first of four Mountaineers to finish one through four. Jazzlyn Shumate (21:08), Alexis Myers (22:02), and Kinsley Barlow (23:22) finished second, third, and fourth, and Ruby King (seventh, 25:25) and Isabella McCarthy (10th, 27:15) also earned top-10 finishes.
A pair of Pirates, Chloe Gelvin (sixth, 24:31) and Iris Ballif (eighth, 26:36), earned top-10 finishes, as did a pair of Vikings, Joan Wedam (fifth, 24:18) and Alice Wedam (ninth, 27:05).
