Rainier School District celebrates two retirements

Last month, the Rainier School District celebrated the retirements of Chris Rearden and Sue White after their combined 54 years of service to the district.

Rearden, a special education teacher at the elementary school, was given a plaque commemorating her 31 years of dedication and commitment to the district at a retirement gathering on June 9.

White, who was unable to attend the gathering, taught at the elementary school and served the Rainier School District for 23 years.

In a Facebook post honoring the two retirees, the Rainier School District noted the “joy and heart” Rearden brought to the elementary school each and every day. White was praised for her years of service that reflected “a quiet strength and steady presence” that shaped the lives of many Rainier students.

“We are incredibly thankful for the legacy these two amazing educators leave behind,” the Rainier School District said in the post. “Your contributions will not be forgotten.”
