The Rainier baseball team earned a big win on Friday, defeating Morton-White Pass 13-2 in five innings.
Six runs in the first and another half-dozen in the second put the Mountaineers up 12-0 after two, and the Timberwolves were only able to scratch across a pair in the third before Rainier tacked on another in the fifth.
Peyton Sheaffer collected two hits and drove in two runs, while Hunter Howell and Dayton Gardner also drove in a pair each.
Wyatt Cughan added three hits and an RBI of his own in four at-bats, and he also struck out seven in three innings on the bump after two scoreless innings from Sheaffer.
Carson Fleetwood drove in both of MWP’s runs, and Austin Farnsworth added a double.
The Mountaineers (6-9, 6-9 C2BL) and T-Wolves (0-15, 0-13 C2BL) will meet again on Monday in Rainier.
