Bryn Beckman
Rainier High School senior Bryn Beckman will graduate as valedictorian with a GPA of 4.0. As a student athlete, Beckman participated in basketball, cross country and volleyball. During her time at Rainier, Beckman was president of both the Associated Student Body and Spanish Club. She also served as chapter president of the National Honor Society and leader of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. In her spare time, Beckman volunteered as a coach for the Special Olympics and was a Rainier School District tutor. Her favorite memory of high school is winning the district championship in basketball with her little sister and the teammates she’s played with since elementary school. After graduating, Beckman will attend the University of Washington on the pre-med route and hopes to become an orthopedic surgeon.
Orion Dobson
Rainier High School senior Orion Dobson will graduate as salutatorian with a GPA of 3.929. Dobson has worked throughout high school and enjoyed riding dirt bikes in his free time. His favorite teacher is Mr. Johnson, who heads the AG-Shop program. Dobson will fondly remember going to Mountain Lumber with his friends to get materials for his school projects. After graduating, Dobson plans to work full time and hopes to one day own his own construction and excavation business.
Ella Marvin
Rainier High School senior Ella Marvin will graduate with a GPA of 4.0. As a student athlete, Marvin participated in cross country and track and field. During her time at Rainier, Marvin was involved in FFA, SkillsUSA, Knowledge Bowl and National Honor Society. Marvin also served as senior class president and was the manager for the boys basketball team. Her favorite high school memory is when she won the state championship in the pole vault during her sophomore year. Marvin will never forget running to her family and calling her best friend to tell her she won. Marvin’s favorite teacher at Rainier was Mr. Lybecker, former head of the AG-Shop program. After graduating, Marvin plans to continue her track and field career at Concordia University of Irvine where she will major in biology and minor in foreign language. She hopes to attend medical school to become a trauma surgeon.
Alexander Sample
Rainier High School senior Alexander Sample will graduate with a GPA of 4.0. During his time at Rainier, Sample participated in Knowledge Bowl, Spanish Club and National Honor Society. His favorite high school memory is competing in a district meet for Knowledge Bowl during his sophomore year when his team almost made it to state. Sample’s favorite educator is Mrs. Beckman, who teaches math. After graduating, Sample plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Washington.
Keira Anderson
Rainier High School senior Keira Anderson will graduate with a GPA of 3.981. As a student athlete, Anderson participated in wrestling, basketball and softball. During her time at Rainier, Anderson was involved in FFA, SkillsUSA, Spanish Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and National Honor Society. Her favorite high school memory is hitting a grand slam in softball this season during Rainier’s senior night. Anderson’s favorite educator at Rainier is Mrs. Garner, who teaches art. After graduating, Anderson will attend Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she plans to study nursing while playing college softball.
