Olympia Family Theater and String and Shadow Puppet Theater present ‘The Snow Queen’

Olympia Family Theater and String and Shadow Puppet Theater have partnered for a whimsical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Snow Queen,” running Dec. 4 to Dec. 28.

“This visually stunning production blends original storytelling, puppetry, and theatrical wonder to warm hearts on even the coldest winter day,” Olympia Family Theater said in a news release.

Adapted by Emily McHugh and directed by Jordan Richards, the show follows  brave young Gerda as she journeys through enchanted landscapes, encounters curious creatures, and discovers the power of friendship in her quest to rescue her best friend from the icy grip of the mysterious Snow Queen.

Showtimes are 7 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The Thursday, Dec. 11, performance is pay-what-you-can. There are no shows Thursday, Dec. 25, and Friday, Dec. 26.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students, seniors and military members. The show is appropriate for all ages.



A total of 10 Access for All Tickets are available free of charge or for a donation amount of your choice. These tickets are available for purchase in person at the box office one hour prior to showtime.

Full-price walk-up tickets are also available at the box office one hour prior to showtime. Walk-up tickets are limited to four tickets per party.
