State Rep. J.T. Wilcox, R-Yelm, was reelected as the Republican minority leader in the state House on Thursday.

Wilcox, who represents the 2nd legislative district in the state House, was chosen during the Republican Caucus’ reorganization meeting in Spokane.

“You run for office so you can go to the Legislature and work hard for the people you represent,” Wilcox said. “The 11 new members of the House Republican Caucus are embedded in their communities and local economies, as are the rest of the members in our caucus. We are ready to go to work for the people of Washington.”

The 2023 legislative session will begin on Jan. 9. It is scheduled to last 105 days.
