John Braun for Congress hits $1 million in fundraising

The John Braun for Congress campaign says it has cracked $1 million in fundraising since launching last September.

The campaign announced Thursday, March 12, that it had hit the $1 million milestone, adding that 93% of the funds donated came from donors within Washington state.

Assuming the campaign is still sitting at around $1 million raised, that would mean the Braun campaign has raised approximately $160,000 since the first of the year.

The announcement from the Braun campaign celebrates the milestone and points to it as a clear sign of broad support in the district.

State Sen. John Braun, R-Centralia, is the highest fundraiser by far among candidates for the Southwest Washington congressional seat other than incumbent U.S. Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, D-Skamania, who came into the race with more than a million dollars already in the bank.

In the fundraising statement, the campaign added Braun continued to meet with stakeholders across the district in the first quarter of 2026 while also serving in his position as state Senate Republican leader.

“I’ve spent my time in Olympia fighting bad policy and advancing real solutions to make life more affordable for families across our state,” Braun said. “While Olympia Democrats continue pushing policies that drive up costs, I will continue to be a voice for Southwest Washington families and bring common sense leadership to Congress.”

The numbers are, as of right now, unofficial and self-reported by the campaign. Campaigns are required to report their campaign finance information, including funds raised and spent, every quarter.

In the last official update filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for the last quarter of 2025, the Braun for Congress campaign had raised just shy of $840,000 and spent around $136,000.

In the last FEC update published at the end of January, the Gluesenkamp Perez campaign had reported roughly $3.25 million in funds raised for her own campaign.

The next official campaign report will be available at the end of April. To scrutinize campaign finance data, visit fec.gov.
