InGenius! Gallery and Boutique Set to Celebrate One Year Anniversary

The InGenius! Gallery and Boutique shop in Yelm will celebrate its one year anniversary on Saturday, July 30.

The celebration, which has a theme of “Meet the InGenius,” will allow the public to get to know some of the artists and artisans that show off their work at the gallery.

Customers are invited to celebrate at the store from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on July 30.

Over 40 artists are expected to have representatives present during the event.

InGenius! artist and instructor Payette Still will provide face painting during the celebration, which will be offered in the “greenspace” between InGenius! and the Yelm Skatepark, according to a news release.

“InGenius! artisans are passionate about what they do and desire to share knowledge and help build community through the arts,” stated the release. “This event will be a chance for them to do just that.”

Some of the artists who will be present during the celebration include local stone sculpture Paul Keeslar, sacred geometry artist Judy Chapman, multimedia artist Ashley Larsen, artist and instructor Michelle Osborne, craftsman and poet Nicholas Morrow, mosaic artist Donna Rae McIntosh, oil painter Josie Tchoukaline, fused glass artist Michael Apfel, artist Jennie Truitt, and artist and instructor Ian Ricker.

InGenius! founders Diego Fleitas and Andrea Levanti will also be present.

The InGenius! art community began with 10 local artists when the gallery opened in the summer of 2021, stated the release. Nearly a year later, the number of artists in the “community” has grown to over 40.

With the large number of members, this allows for InGenius! shoppers to peruse a wide variety of artwork, since no artist is the same.

“Crazy as it seemed to open a business in 2021, people’s responses every day prove to us that this was undoubtedly an idea whose time had come for Yelm,” Levanti stated in the release. “People here are hungry to experience art on a regular basis whether learning, shopping or sometimes just coming in to feel the beautiful energy the space holds.”

The shop is located at 207 First St. S. in Yelm. It is located across from the Yelm City Park building. The gallery is open from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
