In Loving Memory of Linda Lou Edwards: 1949-2021

Posted

Linda Lou Edwards, loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away from natural causes on Wednesday evening, Sept. 29, 2021 at home surrounded by family in Yelm, Washington.

Born in Billings, Montana on May 25, 1949, Linda was the youngest of seven children of Violet (Butler) and William Austin. She is survived by her husband of 48 years Jeffrey; siblings Darlene Bushnell, Larry Austin, Joan Lee Hanson, Donald "Donny Wayne" Austin, Kenny Austin and Carol Sue Glaholt; sons and daughters Deneise (David) Kopetzky, Steve (Diana) Reise, Robin Reise, David (Karmen) Edwards and Jason Edwards; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

When she was a young child, the family moved to Tacoma and later settled in Yelm.

Jeff always said he went looking for gold and found a treasure. She loved the life they created in Yelm, abounding with family and friends who were always welcome to drop in for a bite to eat, a drink and the latest news — she knew it all. Linda was a fine judge of character but not a judge mental person, finding the good in just about everyone, the one keeping our family ties strong.

She enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, RVing, cooking and entertaining especially during the holidays in her warmly decorated home. Linda was a great cook and you could count on her to create amazing dishes in mass quantities for family celebrations. We all hold happy, fond memories of Jeff swinging Linda across the lodge dance floor at parties, in between catching up with family and friends. She knew everyone's name and made everyone feel special, sharing gardening tips and even her favorite recipes.

Linda dearly loved her family, especially babies, and had the opportunity to hold and cuddle each of her three great-grandchildren. We will all greatly miss her quick humor, warmth, ready smile and love.

A celebration of life gathering will be scheduled soon, but at a later date.
