John Hal Dotson was born to John E. and Kathryn Dotson in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. He passed away at home surrounded by his wife Marilee Dotson, daughters Melody and RethaKay Dotson and son-in-law Mike Rickey. He is also survived by his sister Beverly Dotson. John worked for and retired from Thurston County Public Works after 29 years of service. He was a lifetime NRA member and enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, fishing, hiking, backpacking and bird watching. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Kathryn Dotson. 

A celebration of his life will be held March 20 at Bob's Tavern in Yelm from noon to 4 p.m.
