On the morning of Oct. 18, 2021, Janet Mercier Patrick passed away with her family by her side in Spokane, Washington.
Janet was born to August and Darlene Mercier in 1957 in Olympia, Washington. She grew up in Yelm and graduated from Yelm High School in 1975. She worked for the Yelm Community Schools for many years before marrying Richard Patrick and moving to Skagit Valley where they raised their two children, Cody and Carly. She then went on to work for the Burlington and Conway school districts and later retired from the Mount Vernon School District.
After retirement, Janet moved to Spokane Valley, Washington in 2015 to be with her partner, Bernie Johnson. Janet spent her days scrapbooking, reading, baking, decorating cakes and soaking up the sun next to the pool. She enjoyed traveling with Bernie, motorcycle trips and spending time with her family and friends.
Janet is survived by her two children, Cody Patrick (28) and Carly Patrick (25); her partner Bernie Johnson; mother Darlene Mercier; and her two sisters, Kim Summers (Gary) and Cheryl Mercier (BJ).
She was preceded in death by her father August Mercier.
A celebration of life will be held at the Skagit Golf and Country Club in Burlington, Washington from 2 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2021. All family and friends are welcome to join. A graveside service will be held on Dec. 4, 2021 at 12 p.m. at the Yelm Cemetery followed by a social gathering at Talking Cedar Brewing in Grand Mound, Washington. Donations may be made to Hospice of Spokane.
