In Loving Memory of Dean Ketter: 1949-2021

Posted

Dean W. Ketter was born on Aug. 28, 1949 in Tacoma, Washington, to Andy and Loris Ketter. Graduating from Bethel High School he attended Western Washington University in Bellingham.

Returning from a stint in the military, he worked 36 years for Concrete Tech in Tacoma. Dean and Dorothy married in Roy, on Aug. 17, 1973, where they raised their sons on the farm Dean grew up on.

Dean is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dorothy; his sons Jeff, Bryan, Joseph, Dean Jr. and families; and also brothers Dave, Phil, Alan, Randy and families. He was a grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of one. Dean’s face would light up with joy whenever he spent time with the kids.

Dean was the ultimate sportsman and enjoyed hunting with his family the most. A trip to Leavenworth was an event for all sons, brothers and cousins. Hunting was a tradition, a highlight in his life. Many stories and countless hours of laughter will carry on forever.

Joint memorial services are planned for Loris and Dean on Aug. 21, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Roy Rodeo grounds. Officiating will be Joseph Schultz of New Beginnings Church in Roy. The memorial is open to the community. Please send memorials to local charities of your choice. The family sends heartfelt thanks for the support of the community.
