Thurston County celebrated its employees on Tuesday as they distributed the 30 Achievement Awards they received from the National Association of Counties (NaCO).
Thurston County announced the receipt of those rewards in June and handed out the plaques to representatives from various departments during a Board of County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, July 21.
The awards recognize ground-breaking and effective county government initiatives that directly improve quality of life for citizens, Thurston County previously said in a news release.
The honors included major wins from the county’s Public Health and Social Services Department, which hauled in 10 awards, and the Thurston County Auditor’s Office, which earned five.
