Many in the national press, Democratic elites and turncoat Congresspeople should be proud of themselves: They’ve forced a humiliating withdrawal by a good man and great president with an ageist agenda that will turn many — such as myself — against the Democratic party. There are third-party alternatives, and, guess what? This is my chance to vote for them. Why would anyone vote for a party who treats its friends worse than its enemies?
The Dems fully bought into a blatant media campaign to drive Biden out, no matter his accomplishments and a schedule that 99.9% of 20-year-olds couldn’t keep.
First, we had CNN “moderators” failing to call Trump out on bucketloads of flagrant lies during the June 27 debate. When Trump steadfastly refused to answer their questions, these Trump facilitators solicitously gave him additional time to spout more lies and nonsense.
The press was more concerned with Biden’s gait than Biden’s obvious gravitas in reassembling NATO and leading us out of the pandemic to a stock market continuously reaching new highs — among other accomplishments.
Yes, Kamala Harris would make a good president, but people don’t vote logically.
Before gleefully shoving Joe over the side, the elites might have taken a quick look at a few polls: namely, those that show Biden outperforming Harris in virtually every match-up against Trump in every swing state. Yes, that’s right — you read that correctly.
The breathless national press — so intent on getting the old geezer out — (one reporter glumly said Biden had performed so well in his post-NATO news conference that it was only postponing the inevitable — “inevitable” because the press had already marked Biden for the clearance bin) often reported that Harris outperformed Biden against Trump or that her performance “was within the margin of error” (everything is within the margin of error when it’s around three points or under). Now, however, reality. In polls taken in the week or so before July 21, polls show Biden doing better — not a ton better, but better — than Harris in almost every match-up against Trump.
Excuse me, but wasn’t that the point of humiliating a great president? To get someone who could definitely win? And, had the elites been listening to the actual voters, it appears that Biden would have been more likely to win all along. Huh. Gee. Golly. George Clooney, where are you now? Oh, that’s right. You live in Italy, France and London.
Trust has been broken. A naked Democratic agenda of youth over wisdom and accomplishment has been revealed. Older voters are a large and reliable voting block; shove them aside at your peril.
Joe, I — as well as millions of others — support you. My bet? The Democratic party is going to come crawling back at some point.
