As Dancing Needles Tattoo continues to cement itself as a community pillar in Yelm and surrounding cities by supporting non-profit organizations, Youth Athletics Recreation Development (YARD) is next in line to receive some support from the local business.

From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 13, Dancing Needles Tattoo and resident artist Marcos Gualotuna Pila will be offering a Friday the 13th tattoo special. According to Dancing Needle Tattoo, the pricing for the flash tattoos will begin anywhere between $31 to $80. There will be several options to add some shading or color. Drop-ins are welcome and encouraged at the event.

According to Adrian Crain with Dancing Needles Tattoo, the local business expects a huge turnout of anywhere between 200 to 300 approximate clients.

“This event, our entire team has volunteered their time and the studio is funding the event with 100% of all funds collected being donated directly to YARD, Yelm’s local non-profit organization,” Crain wrote. “They will use this much needed funding to meet their financial needs to continue to provide the vital extracurricular activities to our city’s children. They will also have representatives from their organization at the studio during the event to communicate their organization’s mission and service to those who attend.”

According to a pamphlet posed on Dancing Needles Tattoo’s Facebook page, each participant is limited to two designs per turn. Each participant must be aged 18-years or older. Additionally, the artist will only be tattooing arms and legs, unless a different spot is approved by the artist for specific placement.

Each tattoo is limited to three colors per design, and each color will cost the participant $10. Double designs are not two-for-one, and those specific designs are mirrored so the artist can properly place the tattoo.

Dustin Stephan, YARD co-owner, told the Nisqually Valley News that the non-profit organization is grateful to once again partner with Dancing Needles Tattoo for their upcoming Friday the 13th fundraiser.

Funds raised will help provide free memberships for qualifying students, ensuring more local youth have access to the opportunities YARD offers,” Stephan said. “Located right here in Yelm, YARD is an athletic, academic, and life-skills tutoring facility dedicated to empowering youth and families in our community. Through tutoring, athletic training, and life skills programs, YARD works to help young people grow in the classroom, on the field, and in life while keeping those resources local for families in our area.”

He added that Dancing Needles Tattoo has consistently demonstrated a strong community spirit through helping raise funds for not only YARD, but numerous local booster clubs, veteran groups and other community organizations.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dancing Needles and the talented artists who are donating their time and materials to make this fundraiser possible. This marks the second fundraiser Dancing Needles has invited YARD to be part of, and their commitment to supporting the community continues to shine through,” Stephan said. “We are incredibly thankful for their partnership and for everyone who continues to support opportunities for youth and families in the Yelm and surrounding areas.”
