For the 14th time in church history, Crossroads Community Covenant Church is partnering with Yelm Dollars for Scholars and the Rainier Education Foundation by hosting its annual pumpkin patch.

The annual pumpkin patch in Yelm will conclude on Thursday, Oct. 30, and hours at the church for the fall activity are 3 to 6 p.m. on Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. on Saturdays, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays. Crossroads Community Covenant Church is located at 11520 Bald Hill Road SE.

“Proceeds from Crossroads’ pumpkin patch each year go to Yelm Dollars for Scholars and the Rainier Education Foundation,” Jamie Sevier, with Yelm Dollars for Scholars, wrote in a release. “The pumpkins, gourds and decorative corn stalks are grown locally at Nisqually Springs Farm in McKenna. It’s local pumpkins helping local kids.”

Sevier added that in 2024, 94 Yelm High School graduates received scholarship funding from Yelm Dollars for Scholars. Over $7,000 of the $167,300 in scholarship money provided to seniors last year came from the local pumpkin patch.
Additionally, the local pumpkin patch features a string maze, a scavenger hunt with prizes, numerous photo opportunities and free refreshments on the weekends. Clifford the Big Red Dog and other “furry friends” will show up “from time to time” as well.

“Bring the kids and have a great time while helping our local graduates further their education,” she wrote.
