Yelm Farmers Market
The Yelm Farmers Market will continue its series of weekly sales from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, near Yelm City Park at 206 McKenzie Ave. The event will feature a variety of vendors local to Yelm and the region.

Saturday, May 31
Roy Rodeo returns
The annual Roy Pioneer Rodeo is set return from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, at the Roy Rodeo Grounds, located 8710 Higgins Greig Road in Roy. Tickets for the event will be available for purchase at the front gate.

Dinosaur Day
The City of Yelm’s Parks and Recreation Department will host Dinosaur Day from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, at the Yelm Community Center, located 301 Second St. SE. Activities will include fossil excavation, Jurassic grafts, dino games and dinosaur LEGO builds. The event is open to children of all ages, and they must be accompanied by a guardian.

Sunday, June 1
Roy Rodeo returns
The annual Roy Pioneer Rodeo is set return from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, at the Roy Rodeo Grounds, located 8710 Higgins Greig Road in Roy. Tickets for the event will be available for purchase at the front gate.



Friday, June 13
Party on the Prairie: Summer Concert
The Party on the Prairie: Summer Concert event will return at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 13, at Yelm City Park, located 108 SE McKenzie Ave. The event will feature a beer garden, food trucks and live music which includes local artists Dakota Poorman, the Olson Brothers, and country music star Adam Craig.

Saturday, June 14
Prairie Days Parade
Join the Yelm Chamber of Commerce and hundreds of community members lined up on Yelm Avenue to celebrate the Prairie Days Parade, which features the theme of “Rockin’ Through the Ages” this summer. Event hosts ask participants and attendees to pick a costume based on their favorite band and let it inspire their float design, if participating. The parade itself will begin at 9 a.m., and the participant lineup will begin at 7:30 a.m. You can sign up at yelmchamber.com to participate in the event.

Saturday, June 28
Color Fun Run
The partnership between the City of Yelm and Youth Athletics Recreation Development (YARD) will continue at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, at Yelm City Park as the annual Color Fun Run returns. Participants can choose their distance of one-mile run, a 3K run or a 5K run. Everyone 2 years old and up are invited to attend, and registration costs $30. Friday, Aug. 1
Eighth annual Jazz in the Park
Night one of the annual Jazz in the Park event is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, at Yelm City Park. The free event welcomes attendees to enjoy a relaxing evening with live jazz performances, and several food vendors to enjoy. Night two of the event will take place from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, at the same location.
