Rainier High School’s girls basketball team will host Central 2B League opponent, Morton High School, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22, inside the RHS gymnasium. For those who cannot attend the game but wish to watch, it will be available for streaming at www.nfhsnetwork.com.

Family game day at Yelm Timberland Library
Yelm Timberland Library will host its first “family game day” event of 2026 from 3 p.m. to 5 on Saturday, Jan. 24, upstairs inside the library — which is located at 201 Prairie Park St. SE. There will be numerous board games for attendees to enjoy during the event.

Yelm Timberland Library ‘Lego Club’
Yelm Timberland Library will host its first ‘Lego Club’ event of the year from 3:30 p.m. to 5 on Saturday, Jan. 3, upstairs in the library — which can be found at 210 Prairie Park St. SE. The program is recommended for children ages six and over and participants must be accompanied by an adult.

Heartwood Haven bake sale and ‘Meet the Pigs’
Heartwood Haven, an animal sanctuary located in Roy, Washington, will host a vegan bake sale and a “meet the pigs” event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14. The organization can be located at 28616 86th Ave S in Roy.

5th annual Easter “Helicopter Egg Drop”
The fifth annual Easter Festival and “Helicopter Egg Drop” is set for 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, at Stewart’s Arena, located 11109 Vail Rd SE. The egg drop itself is scheduled to begin around 1 p.m. with four different age groups represented: 4 to 6; 7 to 9; 10 to 12; and then a group for the final remaining eggs. There will be a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny at 12 p.m.
