Spring will soon be sprung in the Yelm area. The family can enjoy a “Bunny Breakfast” from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on March 16 at 301 Second St. SE. Organized by the City of Yelm Parks and Recreation Department, and in partnership with Mr. Dougs, the event will be a continental breakfast with pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and juice.

“Our recreation team set this up with the help from many of our other City of Yelm departments,” Line Roy, Yelm’s communications and recreation coordinator, said. “Departments such as IT, who put together our registration forms and finance who take the registration and payments.”

There will also be a craft project for kids to do — this year’s activity is a wind chime —  along with decorating spring cookies and the Easter Bunny reading a story.

“This is our first year doing this event, but we did a similar event in December with Mrs. Claus, and it was perfectly attended,” Roy said.

The City of Yelm will also host an adult-only Easter Egg hunt on the same night, so the city will be active.

Registration is required to attend the Bunny Breakfast so the city can plan for the number of people attending. Tickets are $10, and tickets for kids include breakfast, a craft and cookie-decorating, while the adult ticket includes breakfast.
