The City of Yelm’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee has opened the 2023 Lodging Tax Funding Program.

The LTAC Committee is comprised of citizens who are involved in the tourism industry with a mission to distribute lodging taxes to support special events and festivals that attract tourists to Yelm, stated a news release from the city.

Yelm’s Lodging Tax Fund is the primary source of city funding for events, activities, operations and expenditures designed to increase tourism.

The LTAC Committee allocated up to $40,000 for the 2023 Lodging Tax Fund applicants.

Applications are due before 5 p.m. on March 1. The committee will then review applications and make recommendations to the Yelm City Council for final funding awards.

The city council may approve recommendations from the LTAC committee and may only grant lodging tax awards for projects, activities and events that have been recommended for funding, stated the release.
