The City of Roy will hold its annual community cleanup at the local park on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
As part of the cleanup, the city will provide its dumpsters for use at Roy City Hall until they have reached capacity. There is a one-load limit per household. To be eligible, residents must present a water bill.
At 2 p.m., the city will unveil photos for its Hometown Heroes at city hall.
“The Hometown Heroes that were chosen last year are going to be the ones that go up on the wall,” Roy Police Chief Paul Antista said.
Antista said that the unveiling of the photos will occur after the cleanup, and will be followed by a ceremony. There will also be food for people who attend.
“Bring water, gloves, be prepared,” Mayor Kimber Ivy said. “It’s going to be a good day.”
Last year, the following items were not accepted at the cleanup: hazardous materials, batteries, electronics, refrigerators, medical waste, yard waste, oil, liquids or paint.
