The City of Lacey provided an updated estimate for the number of attendees at this year’s Lacey Fireworks Spectacular held Thursday, July 3.

Ty Keltner, the city’s communications manager, told the Nisqually Valley News on Thursday, July 10, that an estimated total of at least 25,000 area residents attended the event at Rainier Vista Community Park. The estimate was determined by comparing last year’s crowd data with overall impressions of this year’s crowd.

“For attendance, last year we got at least over 25,000 people, because we know there were that many cell phones within the park,” Keltner told the Nisqually Valley News. “The total attendance is even greater because that doesn’t include kids or other people who do not have cell phones.”

While official numbers aren’t in yet, Keltner added there was no doubt this year’s event garnered similar numbers compared to 2024, “just because of the size of the crowds that showed up.”

The 25,000 attendees is much greater than the over 10,000 originally estimated by Keltner on the day of the event, and reported by the Nisqually Valley News.

The 2025 Lacey Fireworks Spectacular also featured its longest fireworks show to date, which, according to the city’s parks, culture and recreation department, clocked in at around 25 minutes.
