Children should write letters to fund Yelm schools

Posted

Editor,

In reference to the Yelm Community Schools (YCS) failed levy, when I was a child we had letter-writing campaigns. There are hundreds of multi-millionaires and billionaires in this state. One of the richest women in the world has some small ties to Yelm. If the teachers and administration of YCS can get the children to cry because of a lost teacher, why can’t they get every child in the district to write a letter to their favorite billionaire? Because taxes in this state are way too high to keep beating up the property owners, and it can possibly get them out of this situation. Kshama Sawant is a socialist and wants to get rid of her money. Use the $5,000 from Tristar for stamps. There are many ways to do things. Try thinking outside the box. Those billionaires have so much money; they can never spend it. Why not show the news stations our letter-writing campaign and give the donors an opportunity to have a tax cut on donations to children?
