Breaking up a five-game win streak, the Tenino baseball team fell in a non-league home contest Wednesday to La Center, 11-0, only racking up three hits and committing all kinds of mistakes on the mound.
The Beavers combined to give up 17 free bases on walks and hit by pitches, with nine of the 11 La Center runs scored due to an extra bag given up.
“Hopefully this is some humble pie and we can realize we can’t just roll the ball out there and be okay,” Tenino coach Ryan Schlesser said.
The Beavers weren’t much better at the plate, getting just three hits and putting a goose egg on the scoreboard after some strong shows in recent weeks.
They’ll look to bounce back against Black Hills next Tuesday.
