Auditor’s Office to Mail Out Voter Ballots on Oct. 13

The Thurston County Auditor’s Office will mail out ballots for the Nov. 8 general election on Oct. 13.

The Office of the Secretary of State began mailing out local voters’ pamphlets for the election on Oct. 10 to all households in Thurston County, stated the release from the auditor’s office.

Local races on the ballot include the race for Thurston County sheriff, which features incumbent John Snaza, a Republican, and Independent challenger Derek Sanders, as well as the race for Thurston County District Three commissioner, which includes incumbent Tye Menser, a Democrat, and Republican challenger Vivian Eason.

Other local elections include the race for Third Congressional District between Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez and Republican Joe Kent. Republican incumbent JT Wilcox is facing off against Edward Meer for the position two state representative seat in Legislative District Two.

Kalo Wilcox and Sam Meyer are running for the District Court judge position one seat in Thurston County, which is a four year term.



Anyone who does not receive a local voters’ pamphlet in the mail can contact the Thurston County Auditor’s Office. An online version is available online at votewa.gov and thurstonwavotes.gov.

The elections division of the Thurston County Auditor’s Office mailed over 9,000 general election ballots to military and overseas voters registered in Thurston County in September.

Those ballot envelopes must be signed and dated by election date or received  via email or fax by 8 p.m. on Nov. 8.

Military and overseas voters who did not receive a ballot by Oct. 10 should contact the elections division at 360-786-5408 or email elections@co.thurston.wa.us for a replacement.
