On a recent drive through Oregon, the Apodaca family of Yelm was involved in a serious head-on collision. Though the family survived, several members suffered considerable injuries.

To aid in the family’s recovery, a GoFundMe campaign was launched for Albert Apodaca, Floydeen Apodaca, and their four children, all of whom were hospitalized after the accident.

“It’s been incredibly hard, but we are alive — and that’s what matters most,” Floydeen Apodaca said, according to the GoFundMe page. “We’re asking for a lot of prayer — for healing, strength, and provision.”

Campaign organizer Vincent Stewart Jr. is looking to raise $10,000 for the Apodaca family to help with medical bills, transportation and lost income.

“Between surgeries, concussions, broken bones, and ongoing treatments, the physical and emotional toll is significant,” Stewart wrote on the GoFundMe page. “They also lost their vehicle in the crash, and this traumatic event will have a major impact on their financial situation and ability to work in the coming weeks and months.”

As of press time, Stewart has raised just under 50 percent of his $10,000 goal.
