Agency on Aging announces application opening for Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program

The Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging has announced that it will begin accepting applications for its 2025 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program on April 15.

The 2025 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program will provide eligible seniors in Lewis, Mason and Thurston counties with up to $80 in funds to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables and honey from participating farmers markets.

To qualify, older adults must meet age and monetary thresholds, including an income below 185% of the federal poverty level. That’s an income of $2,412.75 or less a month for a single older adult. The average monthly Social Security check is $1,976. Applicants should be 60 or older.

Nearly 2,350 older adults in Lewis, Mason and Thurston counties received funds last year.




Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program benefit cards are accepted at participating farmers markets from June 1 through Oct. 31 each year.

Beginning April 15, eligible residents of Lewis, Mason and Thurston County can apply by visiting https://lmtaaa.org/farmersmarket.

The annual no-cost benefit is provided through the U.S. Department of Agriculture as well as state and local funding.
