Adventure Friends Collects Hygiene Items During Drive

Posted

A local group called “Adventure Friends” recently held a hygiene drive to collect items for schools, churches and organizations.

On Saturday, Nov. 19, the group worked to separate and box or bag up the items so they could be given to Yelm First Baptist Church, Crossroads Church, Yelm Community Schools, the Rainier School District, Capital Christian Center and City Gates, said member Kimberly Johnston.

Two of the churches received their donations that day, while the rest were scheduled to be delivered this week.

The group, which operates in a similar structure to Cub and Boy Scout troops, collected some of the items over two weekends at the Dollar Tree in Rainier. Johnston said Safeway, DC’s Treasures and Tim’s Pharmacy also donated some items.

“We are amazed that the who(le) community would come out to help us with this drive,” Johnston stated in an email.
